Claire Westdahl, CNM, RN, MPH, FACNM
Claire Westdahl is a nurse-midwife with over thirty-two years of experience. She holds graduate degrees in nursing and public health. Westdahl is currently Director of the Nurse Midwifery Department and Assistant Professor (C) in Department of Gynecology-Obstetrics at Emory University , Atlanta , GA. In 2000, she developed a train-the-trainer curriculum on social marketing and breastfeeding for the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Agriculture and American College of Nurse-Midwives. She was an invited speaker at the annual meeting of the International Childbirth Educators Association in 2005 on "Breast Feeding and Social Marketing." She has led CenteringPregnancy® groups since 1999. She developed the self-assessment survey "Thinking about Breastfeeding," which stimulates group discussion about the real "cost" of breastfeeding. This three-step counseling strategy, adapted for groups, is based on principles of social marketing.

Janet L. Engstrom, CNM, PhD
Janet Engstrom is presently serving as Professor and Associate Chairperson of the Department of Women's and Children's Health Nursing, at Rush University in Chicago , IL . She was educated at the University of Illinois , where she received both her masters and doctorate degrees. Engstrom is serving as official liaison to the United States Breastfeeding Committee from the American College of Nurse-Midwives. A published author and presenter on a variety of women's health issues, Engstrom will be the special editor for a 2007 issue of Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health on lactation.

Rima Jolivet, CNM, MSN, MPH, ICBLC
Rima Jolivet is currently serving as Senior Technical Advisor to the Department of Professional Services at the American College of Nurse-Midwives, based in Silver Spring , MD. She holds a master in public health degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and is presently pursuing a doctorate in public health from the same institution. She received her masters of science in nursing-midwifery from Yale University in 1999. Jolivet is a certified childbirth educator and is a workshop leader/staff consultant with Centering Pregnancy®, an innovative group prenatal care program.
